The Social Ministry Team oversees many of these outreach efforts.

Some of these ministries include:

  • Hosting Grandparents Day Celebration at Trinity Village with homemade ice cream and entertainment for the residents.
  • Providing a twice weekly pick-up basketball program for the men in our community in our full court gym.
  • Collecting Lutheran World Relief kit supplies, blankets and quilts.
  • Taking communion and prayer to the homes of those ill and shut-in.
  • Collecting cash donations for local residents with special monetary needs in the Little Something Extra Program (Loose offering plate cash on the First Sunday of the month).
  • Ongoing financial support of: Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry, Family Care Center, Christian Community Outreach Ministry, Salvation Army, and Hospice of Catawba Valley.
  • Support for all of the missions and ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) thru their various programs and outreach efforts. These include Lutheran World Relief and other major relief efforts around the globe, as well as our camping ministries in North Carolina, the Lutheran Homes network of Lutheran Services of the Carolinas, and Lutheran universities that include Lenoir-Rhyne University here in Hickory.
